N.5.02 Determine the dependency on OT systems
Control Overview
This control mandates that the organization comprehensively maps out its operational dependencies on Operational Technology (OT) systems. It requires a structured risk analysis for each identified OT asset using a formalized likelihood-and-impact framework (e.g., $ ext{Probability} imes ext{Impact}$). The objective is to identify, quantify, and document critical failure points in physical operations, enabling the organization to prioritize maintenance, investments, and business continuity response strategies effectively.
Applicability Status
- Applicable for anDREa: NO
Justification & Strategic Approach
This control is directly dependent on the presence of physical industrial machinery, SCADA networks, or environmental control systems. As established in N.5.01, anDREa operates as a fully remote, cloud-native SaaS/PaaS organization managing the myDRE platform exclusively inside the virtualized public cloud infrastructure of Microsoft Azure.
Because anDREa does not maintain physical facilities, manufacturing lines, laboratories, or hardware-based utility infrastructure under its direct operational purview:
- There are no physical or industrial processes that rely on OT systems.
- There are no embedded operational systems whose failure could cause physical, industrial, or civil disruption.
- A specialized OT dependency ledger and its associated hardware-focused risk analyses are mathematically and operationally irrelevant to our business model.
Consequently, all requirements under this control are Not Applicable. Risk management, system criticalities, and dependency mappings for anDREa are instead applied exclusively to our software systems, APIs, and cloud architecture via our IT-focused mydre CIA-AA Classification under Controls N.3.09 (Defining Access Security) and N.4.06(Redundancy of Infrastructure).
Audit Summary
- Compliance Status: Not Applicable (Exempt via Architecture)
- Gaps Identified: None. The justification for non-applicability is logically consistent with anDREa's pure-play cloud architecture. No further mapping or remediation is required.
